Teens Connect-Group One

(Ages 13-15)

Teens Connect is a dedicated program for adolescents ages 13-15 who are children of incarcerated parents. This initiative provides a therapeutic and supportive environment where these teenagers can connect with peers who share their unique experiences. Facilitated by a team of skilled Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), and Psychologists, Teen Bridges focuses on helping participants navigate and address the complex emotions associated with their parent’s incarceration.

The program offers a range of therapeutic activities and group discussions designed to support emotional expression and resilience. Participants engage in activities that promote self-reflection, coping skills, and emotional intelligence, providing them with tools to manage their feelings effectively. Teen Bridges encourages open dialogue and peer support, helping teens understand and relate to others in similar situations, which can significantly reduce feelings of isolation and stigma.

In addition to supporting the teens, the program also provides valuable resources and guidance to caregivers, enhancing their ability to support their child's emotional and psychological needs. By fostering a sense of community and offering professional support, Teen Bridges aims to empower adolescents to build positive coping mechanisms, strengthen their self-esteem, and develop a network of supportive relationships.

Through Teens Connect, adolescents gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and experiences while connecting with others who face similar challenges. This holistic approach promotes healing, resilience, and a sense of belonging, paving the way for a healthier emotional future.
