Teens Connect- Group Two

(Ages 16-17)

Teens Connect- Group Two is a specialized program for adolescents ages 16-17 who are children of incarcerated parents. This initiative creates a therapeutic space where these teenagers can connect with peers facing similar challenges. Guided by a team of experienced Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), and Psychologists, Teen Resilience is designed to support adolescents in navigating and processing the complex emotions associated with their parent’s incarceration.

The program offers a range of therapeutic activities, workshops, and group discussions tailored to the developmental needs of older teens. Participants engage in exercises focused on emotional expression, self-awareness, and resilience building. Through these activities, they develop coping strategies, strengthen their emotional intelligence, and gain tools to manage the stress and stigma related to their family situation.

Teens Connect emphasizes peer support and community building, providing a platform for teens to share their experiences and learn from others who understand their struggles. This sense of connection and shared understanding helps to reduce feelings of isolation and fosters a supportive network among participants.

In addition to supporting the teens, the program offers guidance and resources to caregivers, helping them better address their child's emotional and psychological needs. By providing a comprehensive support system, Teen Resilience empowers adolescents to navigate their feelings in a healthy manner, build self-confidence, and develop a positive outlook for the future.

Through Teens Connect, teenagers gain valuable insights into their emotions, forge meaningful connections with peers, and access professional support, paving the way for emotional healing and personal growth.
